Who is Caleb Norwood?

Meet the man behind the campaign!

I was born in San José, California, and raised in a small town called Lafayette, Colorado. I am a military spouse; my wife is in the United States Air Force, which is what brought me to Lancaster. Growing up, I had a very diverse group of friends, many of whom emigrated to the US from all over the world.  Thanks to them, I was immersed in many different cultures and saw that, no matter where someone originates from, people are people.

During my life, I have worked in a wide variety of positions and fields. My work history is Kroger as a cashier, Quiznos as a sandwich maker, IBM as tech support for GAP, a janitor while going to college, various positions at both Wal-Mart and Target, IBM as tech support for Morgan Stanley, a telecommunications data center server auditor at Level-3 communications, a marijuana dispensary as a cashier, and Tier 3 support at the solar panel monitoring company, Also Energy.

This wide array of employment has allowed me to see the common struggles and disrespect experienced by workers in all jobs.  It has also introduced me to more people of differing backgrounds and class statuses, expanding my knowledge of the struggles people face. Paying rent, paying for food, taking care of their kids, unreliable transportation to work due to poor public transportation or car issues, paying for college, and a lack of personal time are all common issues for the workers of America. These problems all stem from corporate greed and lobbying, which successfully prevents the working class from leading fulfilled lives. I am running to fight against those influences, so everyone in the wealthiest nation on the planet can live comfortably.
